Pablo Escobar’s lake house, also known as “La Manuela,” was a luxurious property located on the banks of the Guatapé reservoir near the town of El Peñol in Colombia. The house was named after his daughter, Manuela and was one of Escobar’s many extravagant properties in the region.

The lake house featured opulent amenities, including a private dock for Escobar’s boats, a swimming pool, a helipad and well manicured gardens. The property offered Escobar and his family a secluded and picturesque retreat in the Colombian countryside, with stunning views of the surrounding reservoir and landscape.
While Finca La Manuela may not be as well-known or visited as Escobar’s more prominent estates like Hacienda Nápoles, it serves as a reminder of the legacy of the drug lord.
Hacienda Nápoles is located near the town of Puerto Triunfo in Colombia. The sprawling property once served as Escobar’s more luxurious retreat, featuring a private zoo with exotic animals, a bullring, a collection of vintage cars and aircraft. Following Escobar’s death in 1993 the estate was seized by the Colombian government and has been transformed into a theme park and tourist attraction. Today, Hacienda Nápoles offers visitors a glimpse into Escobar’s extravagant lifestyle, as well as educational exhibits on the history of the Medellín Cartel and the impact of the drug trade in Colombia.
There are many tour operators, hotels and guest houses offering guided tours of these locations, by boat, car or rickshaw.
These estates are part of the now popular Narco Tourism Destinations a travel idea that seem to have come to fame due to the Netflix Drama called Narcos
